Receiving MO Messages with SMPP

When receiving MO messages, the parameters listed in the following table are sent via a deliver_sm protocol data unit (PDU).

Required Parameters:

Parameter Description
Source TON

Indicates the type of number (TON); this value is set to 0x01 for international.

Value: 0x01
Source NPI

Indicates the address format of the phone number (Number Pan Indicator); this value is set to ISDN/E.164.

Value: 0x01
Source Address

Indicates the E.164 formatted address (phone number) of the originator.

Value: 11 digits
Destination TON

Indicates the destination address type of number (TON); the value is set to 0x03 for network specific.

Value: 0x03
Destination NPI

Indicates the destination numbering plan indicator (NPI); this value is set to 0x00 for unknown.

Value: 0x00
Destination Address

Code that the message came in on.

Value: Variable length
Carrier ID

Carrier ID in the Txtwire system.

Value: > 0 for valid number

0 for unable to determine the carrier
Group Keyword

Group Keyword in the Txtwire system that the message was tied to.

Value: Variable length
